We have played Breanna's ECB-Hindman team several times. I am surprised a school would make a commit-able offer without seeing her in person.

That's awesome. And in reference to her saying "it's like an Ivy League school"...I think that from a 14 year old perspective, she is just saying that it's right up there with getting a scholarship to an Ivy League school...that is how I interpreted it.

I just find it weird that: a) they haven't even seen her in person...must have been a pretty damned good video; and b) the family hasn't even seen the campus. What do they even know about it? Good thing that there is a caveat that she can de-commit if she doesn't like it.

Good for her. That puts things in perspective as how early colleges are looking at future classes. So IMO, get your kids on the radar asap.

We have a 2017 girl in NJ that recently verballed to Alabama. FWIW, she has played 18U since 12. I was pretty certain she would go to GA based on conversations with the Mom but this fall it was announced Alabama.

Prodigies will always exist and the colleges will always snap them up. For most of them, HS is just a time to grow up. I wish this young lady luck. Yes. I would have visited the school, before committing. :)

Good for her. One thing I notched was she said LMU is like an Ivy League school. With all do respect, its not even close to being an Ivy League school. They did have a SS Sam Fischer who was an outstanding hitter and fielder who played for Team USA recently.

Ivy league in price maybe. It is a decent school, but is really just a small-mid sized regional private Catholic college. It is more in line with Pepperdine or University of San Diego than an ivy league school. There are a few cal state schools that offer a better education and pretty much all the UC schools beat it hands down in education/athletics/price/experience.

The more I think about this, the weirder it gets. More power to her if this decision works out, but the two way "sight unseen" aspect of this seems like it is a rash decision and needs more consideration. If she is this good at 14, how good will she be at 16? what other opportunities would arise? and what about playing for an in state school? The national aspect of recruiting bums me out a little. Nothing like seeing a Georgia girl playing for Ga. Tech. or The bulldogs and taking on A UCLA team made up of California kids. I'm a little old school that way.

When I read Loyola, I, of course thought Loyola University of Chicago. Then, I was like "What?" But maybe she has aspirations to complete a major that her school specializes in.

I am waiting for her mom to show up on here and tell us more.
