When coaching my daughter's rec. team I had a mom come up to me and ask when we were going to stop hitting off those T's. She said she thought we were beyond that "T'ball level.

I was in the stands of a tournament last weekend and the guy behind me whose daughter was up kept yelling stuff at here after EVERY pitch. Finally she struck out on a pitch way out of the strike zone and he yelled, "see I told you that if you swung at those pitches in practice you would swing at them in games." The daughter then came back to the stands and chewed out her dad. What an embarrassment for everyone!

"DD is going to be playing rec volleyball this weekend instead of competitive softball".

Of course, this was my ex-wife, and she knows softball is what I love to do with my girls. That was said today btw.

How many times do we hear parents say stuff that is insulting because it is so obvious.

When a pitcher is struggling to find the plate and her parent yells, "throw strikes." When a pitcher is already frustrated this just adds to the frustration and even embarrassment.

You could apply this to any time a player makes a mistake like swinging at a bad pitch. Of course the parent would never make a similar mistake (of course many of these parents are way beyond the time when they could even bend over and touch their toes).

It is really repulsive because it seems like parents are trying to make themselves look good at the expense of their daughters.

But I got close to this type of transgression once when my daughter struck out after never swinging the bat. I quietly (but publicly) reminded her that she didn't even swing the bat once. It was obvious and in bad taste.

We have found another team and want to play for you and him. We need everyone to be flexible.

Throws Strikes....(Like the pitcher really was only trying to throw balls)

Hit the ball...(like the Batter was trying to be struck out)

I know we missed some practice and a tournament due to vacation (one planned after we set a calender based on family's dates given for vacation) but why is it that my DD is playing less today?

Mom to Coach...My DD cried all the way home b/c she did not get to play her favorite position. Later. Coach to Player...I am sorry your were crying on the way home after the last tournament about not being able to play your favorite position. It was not my intent to upset you maybe we can work more on it and help you get better so we can try it again. Player to Coach....(Weird Look) I did not cry on the way home after the last tournament. Coach to Player...Well your mom told me this...Player to Coach. Not sure why!

In the middle of All Star Selections a Coach says, about her friends child, "I know she did not rate as well today as others but you should pick her because she carpools with three other players and is really good friends with them."
