Used to always end practice with the bucket game. Half the team at first, half the team at third bucket upside down on home plate with a batting helmet on top. Alternate teams to throw ball to knock helmet off bucket, 1 point for bouncer into bucket, 2 points for hitting the bucket in the air, 5 points for helmet in the air. First team to 25 points wins, other team runs a lap.

We do something similar, where you hit hard grounders to the two teams and use a 5 gallon empty water bottle on top which makes a great sound when hit. If the fielder misses the grounder and it goes to the grass, she has to throw the ball from where it stops making an accurate throw a lot harder.

Used to do a couple of different ones;

line the whole team down the right field line, do stealing practice with coach running (makes it the team vs coach), they are too fast now 2nd year 14's so I don't do this one anymore.

Split the team in half, 1 on defense, 1 on offense. Defensive unit splits players between 1st base and 3rd base. Offense hits off tee of soft toss, side toss. When the ball is hit, the two girls on 1st & 3rd run to the ball, the first one there must pick it up and hold it until the other player gets there and transfer the ball to the other player, then run back to their base. The girl that hit it runs around the bases as many times as she can before the defenders get back. Count 1 point per base. Switch sides. I really liked using this one with either racketballs or take an old bat and hit golf balls (no fence), those babys go a long way...and lots of conditioning too!!!
