I've implemented an incentive program to earn small nickle sized stickers for the girls helmets for different accomplishments achieved.
For those of you currently doing this, what are your criteria to earn a new sticker?

I do the skulls when they get hit by a pitch. If they get 5 of them then I give them a coupon for a mcdonalds ice cream cone.

A different levels, I've done different things. Hits is usually the primary one. I've also given out stickers for outstanding defensive plays, and catchers throwing out runners.

My kid dominates that stat on her teams...every year. Last year was a down year for her. She only got nailed 12 times. The year before was 17.

Here's a short list of what I had in mind for our 14U A/B team...
1 new sticker earned for each of the following
5 rbi's
5 base hits
1 HR
5 stolen bases
1 defensive pick off
5 pitched K's
report card with all A's and B's
team vote after each tournament for leadership/effort

DDs previous team had several different stickers, all designations inside a softball diamond

1, 2, 3, 4 - base hit, double, triple, HR
SAC
RBI
skull and crossbones - to P and C for a shutout
MVP sticker awarded for each game as well
think there was another for a great defensive play as well (maybe a glove)

worked pretty well, strong team, everybody earned a decent amount of stickers (and ROE did not count except if it was RBI as well). but if you have a big skill gap between players, might not be such a good idea.

We're trying something this year, it's not individual stickers but team stickers. 10U brand new team, most of the girls first travel team.

Team gets a sticker for things like:
Hustling in and out of inning (kids can start policing themselves instead of coaches always saying it)
Being good teammates (coaches discretion)
Stealing 2nd before I can yell GO (we auto steal 2nd because no catcher in our league can throw anyone out.)
Stealing 3rd on a past ball without coach's prompt (okay if kids yell from dugout, in fact, we encourage it.)

Things like that. Stickers go on big board. Once a certain amount of stickers gotten, there's a team prize. First one is team hairbands. Then pieing coach's, making coach run warmup laps during practice, things like that. Ice cream party when they get a lot, etc. We're still getting the details hammered out but so far we're liking where it's going.

Our goal is to try to turn us into a real team, instead of just a group of girls that play together. Hope it works!
