Would you be willing to give more detail of the layout of these? My daughter just moved up to 14u and I think it’s time to move away from the basic hand signals we’ve been using. Need to be able to call more locations (high and inside or low and outside), as well as different pitches.

We use something similiar to this. I abbreviate so that FBUI = Fastball up and in, BDDC - back door drop curve etc. The real secret is once you have your grid made up I make a separate call sheet that has, for example, FBUI and then all the numbers that correspond so once I call the first one I make a mark over it and move to the next one if I call that pitch again. That way I use all 8-9 combinations before I repeat. Keep in mind - if I call a FBUi and she throws it nowhere close to the spot (let’s be real - it happens) I don’t mark it off because in my mind if someone is charting then there is no way they will get it correct. A changeup always gets marked. Hope this helps

There's no reason to have to call out signs in a good system, other than perhaps defensive plays. Even if you do call them out, there should be enough random alternatives that another team shouldn't be able to pick them up.

If anyone is interested in having someone do either a hitting and baserunning system, or a pitchcalling system for them, and to supply the wristbands at a very affordable cost, email me at jffbaker3@gmail.com.
