10u ball, we are batting 10 or 11 every game so far this year (10 games so far, cold weather climate, only 10 on roster)

team ranks
Avg - 5
RBI - 4
OBP - 6
OPS - 5
Runs - 9

I think some of the stats are skewed (ie awarding hits when should be FC or ROE), but if they are they are likely skewed across the board).

also, try to guess where this batter has been in lineup for every game.

I don't care about average, RBI, or Runs scored. The first is incomplete, and the latter two are team dependent.

What's her slugging percentage? Or, better, her ISO?

If her OBP is 6th, she's probably not hitting in my top 5 unless she has big time power.

But, also, this is 10u, so I'm probably not worry so much about my lineup construction.

She is currently hitting 3rd which is fine (makes contact and moves runners) unless her SO% is high then it should be 5 or 6.

Winner?

has hit last (9 or 10 spot depending on team size that day) every game

SLG is 5th on the team, ISO would be about same from what I can tell.

SO % not part of stats calc for team, hers is 0.150

trying to figure out what she needs to do to move up in order to get more appearances, boost confidence

At 10u I used a continuous order. If my #7 hitter batted last in a game, the #8 hitter was my lead off for the next game. I didn't really get too involved with lineups until 12u.

same batter every game? again, these are 10 yr old girls. need to try to build confidence, not diminish it.

I did not say I agreed with it.

I like more what Fp26 posted or what I think sluggers posted a few years ago.

There is a blank batting order before the game, when ever you get to game the player can put their name in any blank space.

A lot of coaches like to put an above average hitter last to setup top of the order.

I have seen that. I have seen double cleanup hitters in the 8 hole, all fast kids at the top, etc. In reality from a wins and loses point of view it matters very little. From a development point of view the concern would be if you are getting the same amount of at bats per your output. Meaning if you always bat at the bottom you will eventually lose AB's as the season progresses.

We used to roll the lineup when we played exhibitions and some pool play games. Meaning if you made the last out the first game you were batting last the next game.

In bracket games I used to set the 2,3,4 hitters how I wanted them and the rest of the team was set by OBP. After every game the people that got on base would float to the top and those that didn't would slide. The next tournament we would reset based on the last few weeks worth of stats. Rinse and repeat.

The players (and parents) knew roughly were they batting and felt encouraged that they could move up in the lineup if they performed well. It seemed to work out...
