as former rec coach and a softball parent, a little cautionary note to coaches.
we played our last fall tournament last weekend, and on Monday coach (no child on the team) sent out an email with a "bombshell" in it, but with a phrase attached that left me and my wife uncertain if they were joking (they were, so no harm no foul, except for the couple of hours we were uncertain). For the sake of us parents poor ol' hearts, if you are putting in a joke/sarcastic/hyperbolic (if that is right word) comment, please make it painfully obvious. humor/sarcasm comes across much differently when reading something than you may think when you are writing (tone, facial expression, etc., I have committed this mistake myself).
