Being trown out of game

In 8U one of the funky things is most umps would ask HBP the batter if they wanted thier base or to keep hitting.

Sometimes coach was yelling take your base, player stating I want to hit.

I wish this was true. My AC is a big guy 6'7 and big build, he seems to be able to say what he want and never gets even a warning. Me 5'6 female, if in the same game I question something I get a warning. The one game I got tossed from, my coach had an argument with the umpire in the first inning after my catcher got plowed into on a bang/bang play at the plate (he got not even a warning)

Seen 1st coach ejection this year. I've seen a lot of arguments, I'm the ac, head coach likes to argue close calls, I like to watch. 2 other teams playing, we're waiting, 18u, pitcher is throwing some sort of knuckle change that is super slo. Opposing coach yells to the ump, "what is this, slow pitch", about that time, the coach for team in the field calmly walks out of the dugout, crosses the field, meets the other coach at his dugout, and takes a couple of swings at him. Didnt say a word. Connected once before the umps got between them. Everyone was stunned, dead quite. Apparently the pitcher was the coaches daughter, and these 2 coaches had a past. He got to leave early, and the other coach kept quite the rest of the tournament.

As a coach never and I've coached alot. Could have easily been tossed many times but always had umps that would let you know "that enough" so I took them at their word and shut up and walked away. Only umped for three years but I did the same thing always let coaches vent but a couple went to far and let them know "you are done one more word and you are out go sit down" they always just went back to the dugout.

Had an opposing coach get tossed in a game this year. Early in the game a player bunted and barely ran into the ball. PU called her out. Coach told the PU there was no way he could see that. The PU refused to ask for help. Coach went on for a while and quieted down. A couple innings later we're up by 5 and his team was starting to rally. Same thing happens. PU calls the girl out and sends the runner who was on 3rd and scored back to 3rd. The coach started yelling at the PU again. Only louder. The PU again refused to ask for help. After refusing to let it go the umpire tossed the coach. Then the coach got personal telling the umpire it wasn't his girls fault he had a rough night and was hung over. Then he told him he sucked as an umpire. He was the worst umpire he'd ever seen. And he wouldn't stop. That's when the PU got the ball from our pitcher and forfeited the game to us, putting us in the championship game of the tournament.

This was 12U. His kids were all upset and crying in the handshake line. Our kids were stunned by the display the opposing coach displayed.

Never got tossed, warned justly once. Here is my take on on it. I caught all my playing days so I had front row seat to many coach vs ump augments. Often I got to hear the plate ump reasoning after the fact in chit chat with him between batters. All of my catching days and coaching days I've never ever, not once saw a coach pull a Billy Martin and the ump go " my bad your right I'll change my call to what you saw". I have seen calls be questioned calmly and some times after conference with other ump a call reversed. I've questioned calls and had umps incorrectly explain the rule, not often as the umps in our area are pretty good. On judgment calls I "think" they missed I ask the to chk with other ump sometimes they do sometimes they dont. On calls I know they missed same thing. Rule interpretation should be handled calmly and ask for uic. Once the play in question is over, i sometimes in light hearted tone discuss it between innings or after game. About always I end it with a big grin "I've never missed a call from the dugout" the ump with a grin says in some form"never met a coach who hasnt". I have always refused to let players give umps grief as that never works out.

I tried to see if I could get tossed this weekend. Umps were very much a bunch of @@$holes. Attitudes were the worst I have ever seen, missed Interference calls, strike zone as big as a truck. The BU told my AC that he would have already tossed me out, but it was hot as hell, and he wasnt sending me to the truck to go sit in the a/c. They were suffering and I was going to as well. I dont think I will ever play another tourny with this "brand" had the same 2 umps all weekend.

I went to one of my dd's away basketball games when she was a in high school. My dd's team was up 10 points with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game. One of the girls on my dd's team was dribbling out the clock, when a girl from the opposing team put two hands in her back and shoved her 10 feet out of bounds. The referee blew a foul on the player and awarded the dribbler two shots. My dd's basketball coach was asking the referee for a two shot intentional foul and the ref wasn't having anything to do with his request. After the first free throw, the ref called a technical foul on my dd's basketball coach, apparently for arguing.

As the referee administered the technical foul free throws, I said, "That was a great call. Giving that coach a technical foul was one of the best calls you have made all night. But why get that call right? You haven't made a right call all game." The referee stopped the game and looked at me and asked if I wanted to watch the rest of the game, to which I replied, "Now your back to making the wrong calls again, I'm just a guy in the crowd and I don't know anything. Welcome back." At which point, the ref stopped the game and went to get the athletic director to throw out an unruly fan.

Several minutes later, the athletic director came up to me and asked me to leave the gym. I looked at him and asked, "Is there a problem?" The athletic director said that the ref had complained that I had made an inappropriate comment, to which I replied, "I heard the comment, it did come from this section, I have got no use for guys that would talk to officials. Hey, how about you stand on this side of the bleachers and look for someone making inappropriate remarks and I will go stand on the other side of the bleachers and listen for inappropriate remarks and let's see if we can catch this guy."

So the athletic director walked back across the court and asked the referee which guy was the trouble maker to which the referee said that guy in the white hat that you were talking to. So the athletic director walked back across the court and said that he had to escort me out of the gym.

As we walked out of the auxiliary gym and down the hall way, we walked by the main gym where the boys were playing. Just then, the whistle blew and the home crowd stood up and booed the referees foul call. So I poked my head in the main gym and the athletic director said that I had to leave. So I looked at him and said, "So let me get this straight. If I would have stood up after the referee called the technical foul on the coach and booed at the top of my lungs like your crowd is doing right now, that I would be allowed to stay and watch the remainder of the game, because that is acceptable behavior?" As we walked out, he explained to me that asking a referee why he got a call right is far worse than standing and booing when the entire crowd is in agreement.
