Hello Everyone,

Coaching 18/U Showcase this season. Roster size is 14. This is a larger roster than the usual 11-12 I have had in in the past. I am wondering if any of you have a sub rotation system you could share regarding playing time. Do you rotate after a couple innings? I know not all will ever be happy, but even an effective way for me to mange this would be helpful.

Thanks!!!

Priority obviously IMO are girls that are not committed that have contacted coach that are in attendance for them they should be batting top of line up to ensure most reps and showcasing their primary position and whatever else you know coach is looking for. After pretty much just making sure girls are getting reps in their primary position as much as possible and getting ABs. Half games make sense but I would track inning to make sure you are being as fair as possible.

My advice to showcase coaches:
1) It does not matter if you win or lose, it only matters that your players get the opportunity to play in front of college coaches.
2) Bat the roster and use a continuation of the batting order game to game.
3) Utilize free rotation on defense. If you have 5 outfielders, rotate them across the outfield LF, CF, RF, bench, bench, LF, CF, RF, bench, bench.
4) Make the players do their homework and contact college coaches inviting them to watch your team play.
5) Reward players who do their homework and get college coaches into the stands.
6) No warm ups after the first inning - maximize game time.
7) If you are thinking about arguing a call refer to #1.
8) Tell your players that the college coaches are always watching.
9) College coaches like to see how players react when they fail.
10) Grades matter, encourage your players to work hard in the classroom.
