If you know anything about softball, you more than likely have an "Idea" what and who you want coaching. Now if you dont know these coaches, I would definitely ask if they can follow your lead, and back you in all coaching decisions. And if they have a problem, they come to you in an off field place. What do they know, and what are they "more experienced" at coaching?

Lots of great stuff here.

One way to see if you might be on the same page is to have them develop a sample practice plan to see what their idea of a good practice is. They can do this ahead of time, and you can even discuss it with them during the interview.

Do you have a plan for the AC to take on a specific role (hitting coach, etc.)? If so, you can tailor your interview to find out if they're right for whatever role you might want them to fill.
