This is why many LL's develop a travel team made up of the previous year's all star team (it's typically the same girls year after year unless they leave) and play in travel tourneys during the spring until the current year's all star team is picked. The girls stick together, practice all the time together, and are ready for Districts because they have played better competition. Totally paid off for us - and we were never embarrassed in tournaments! We actually won a couple. I believe 9/12 of those girls all play true travel ball now at 14U.
