I am AC for a rec team, DD2 plays, also plays travel ball, developing pitcher, pretty decent catcher (I try to take off dad glasses when evaluating her, for what that is worth). one other TB player on team as well, also pitches. I think they are both pretty comparable, but I see HC (who I really get along with, and does not play daddy ball for the most part) starting to favor the other pitcher. has pitched complete games three in a row now. I will say, this pitcher has been slightly better than DD, but some of that also is that DD does a much better job behind the plate than our other catcher, who is Dd of HC.

how do I advocate for DD to get circle time. this is rec, so it should be about developing players, and the performance difference between the two is very minimal.

well as a P and C it's going to be hard for her to get innings if the HC views her as the #1 C and #2 P; because for her to get innings as P the HC has to put in his #2 C which you make it sound like is a liability.

Age group please...10U? What you are really asking is for him to to do is give the #2 C some more reps right? What does your DD do on her TB team? P or C?

Our rec league has rules/recommendations on the amount of innings girls can pitch. If yours doesnt i would just simply say hey lets try and get ?? Some innings pitching or whatever position for other players too.

she pitches, catches, and plays wherever they want her on TB team as well. they have not played any games yet, no real clear cut #1 P or C on TB yet.

I am just going to ask coach (respectfully, not whining or begging) tonight if she can pitch. see what happens.

It's a tough situation because on one hand, your argument for your DD to pitch more makes sense, but on the other hand, you have an unfair advantage over other parents in that you have more influence over how much your kid pitches. Some would say that's daddy ball.

Is it appropriate for parents to ask the HC if their kid can pitch or play a certain position? Or should parents stay out of it? I know you're an AC and should give opinions, but should you recuse yourself in this instance since it's you DD? It's a pickle.

DD pitches so I can get lost in this and have been stuck like you but ..

Forget your DD is a P, it is silly that only 1 player is Pitching? It is a self-fulfilling prophesy. #1 P is better then the rest, of course she is she is the only one that pitches in games.

You need to pitch 3 or more pitchers IMO. Not equally but you should be able to find innings for them.

It is bad for all 12 players on Team having only 1 player pitch.

Its rec. All girls should be playing all positions provided safety isnt a concern. Be an advocate not only for your daughter but the other kids too. If hes allowing one girl to pitch entire games it wouldnt surprise me if the same girls play outfield all the time and bat bottom of the order etc. ITS REC.

she switches up outfield and middle infield a lot, so they all see infield time, and no one ever sits, as sometimes we only have 8 (one game 7), rarely more than 10. she has about 3-4 girls she will play on first and third, and only two interested in catching.

my DD and other pitcher are really only ones who have put in work and can find strike zone at least 25% of the time. one "pitcher" keeps wanting to pitch overhand, another takes 3 steps, etc. she and I pretty much use same criteria for allowing kids to pitch, if they can find the zone fairly often, they will pitch, even if they are meatballs, makes the team play defense. nothing more boring for everyone (off, def, spectators, umpire) than walkfest.
