I'm coaching an active 10u travel team for my second year

Last year I took on just about everything myself and I swear it took over my LIFE! I am looking for ideas/suggestions how a parent can help make things just a little easier on me!

I was thinking about them organizing our tournament drinks/snacks etc. what other things can I add to my list?

Thanks!

They schedule the hotel rooms or at least call and get a block of rooms and let the parents know where to call. They can help make last minute calls to parents, if there is a schedule change. They can track down the location of each park and send out driving directions. They schedule cookouts, make certain what can be carried into the ball diamonds (coolers, water jugs, grills?) and make restaurant reservations. Also, they are on hand, if the male coach has a player that starts her period. (It happens.)

Amy is dead on. I was that mom last year. By the grace of God we are now playing for an organization who has their own coordinator. Woot!

Be sure to include 'does not attempt to coach' or words to that effect.

I once had to release a Team Mom from her duties. She's still my wife, but her Team Mom'ing days are over.

Treasurer / uniform order person.

As head coach I like to be the person spending the money but the team manager collects it, tracks it and banks it. No arguments about incoming and outgoings.

Same with uniforms - final design - HC - sizing players, ordering, etc - team manager.

Ours is also in charge of our first aid equipment. There is a coaching bucket with a whole sports pharmacy on it at each game. Oh and extra chin straps, batting tape and glove laces.

Everything but coaching, and picking out the tournaments...

Our team mom, is the most important person on our team...

Picks out uniforms.
Orders uniforms.
Orders spirit wear.
Schedules practice facility
Sends out all team communication.
Determines which uniforms to wear on which days
Schedules all travel activities, hotel, social night, group meals.
Team parties/bbqs
Gift bags
Our liaison with the tournament directors... in case we have a schedule conflict
Team treasurer
Coordinates fund raisers
