We have had luck getting local restaurants to provide sponsorships and in return we have done a "family night" at the restaurant once or twice during the season after practice or after a game. It is also a nice touch to provide any sponsor with a plaque that includes a team photo and inscription thanking them for their support.

Show up looking professional and be organized. Make up a brochure for your team that shows the kids, states your mission, emphasizes helping the girls/community involvement, etc.

Have different sponsor levels with benefits for each level. Example: for $500 you get a banner ad on the team webpage with a link to their website, sponsor gets name on team banner, sponsor gets mentioned in a "thank you" ad taken out in local paper. $250 gets two of the above. $100 gets one of the above.

Some places won't like giving $$$, but you may be able to get them to donate a gift card or something. Take it. Gather all the gifts from businesses you can and then hold a raffle.

One thing I always did was to give the sponsor something for their money, I had a banner we would display at games with the sponsor’s name on it and printed t-shirts with sponsor's name. Most of the kids, parents and grandparents wore the t-shirt around town advertising the sponsors.

They give us money we give them advertisement, we also made money through sales of the t-shirts.

Check with some big box stores like Home Depot or Lowes, The managers usually get a discretionary fund to sponsor local area groups as advertisement and for tax write offs. Also check at your local Wally World (Walmart). Depending on who the manager is, they will offer your team something of value whether it is a gift card or merchandise it really doesn't matter. The more you collect the more you can use at a fundraising dinner (preferably at a restaurant that sponsored you) and make gift baskets to raffle off. Believe it or not, some of the larger Hospitals in your area will cut you a check as well. Our TB team got sponsorship from two hospitals last year. One check was for $250 and the other was for $500.
