What is the general thought on wrist bands? I see a lot of college teams using them when at bat as a way for coaches to communicate with players. I was thinking on getting them for my 16 u travel team. I think its a good way to make sure everyone is on the same page when on offense....

My DD's 10u team is going to use them. They have used it in practice calling pitches and it seems to work well. They can simply swap cards and the numbers change so it will be hard for another team to figure out. We have a scrimmage next weekend so I will get to see it on offense as well. I think it has to be the easiest way to call a game especially for younger girls.

I agree with Rambler. They're neat.

DD's team uses them. All the players have a card for offense. The catcher and pitcher have specialized cards for calling the pitches. Everyone else has a standard defense card. The coaches can switch cards between innings, so if the opposition has figured out any signals, they won't be good for long.

My 14u tb team uses them... we have the Velcro flip open qb version. There are three openings for cards. So, I made three different color schemes. Pink, yellow, and green. They have the same plays on them but different numbers. So instead of hand and arm signals to tell a batter to drag bunt and the base runner to steal... I have a play call for that. One inning Ill call pink 22 and its swing away, next inning its green 83 etc... they are both the same call

While I can certainly see where wristbands would be helpful, we still like to do it the old fashioned way with hand signs.

Best thing I ever did. No more missed signs.

I also, use a signal fan. It has 6 different colored blades and many different combinations that the players glance at their wristbands and perform what is called. Impossible to have signs picked and every player on the field knows what is going on by seeing the colors and not having to listen for a voice call.
