Dd made it on a 12u team for fall season. This is more or less a all star team anybody
can try out for. We have rec kids and some travel girls. Coach has a 11yr and a 13yr on team. The cut off is Jan 1 so if your 12 before the new year being 13years old isn't a problem we were told. All birth certificates were turned in.

We creamed two travel teams today. Coach got a call that we're not allowed to play 12u anymore since we have a few 13 yr olds. All of our pitchers are 11 years old. We have practice Monday and will discuss options. This sucks.
The teams we played had a hard time pitching. Our 13 year old hit one over the fence and bounced one off of the fence.

Different organizations have different age rules.

DD has always played ASA which is the rule you stated, others are different.

Can you provide me the number of the 13 year old in case we play you? I might work with the pitchers on how an intentional walk works. That is a couple good poaks for a 13 year old.

Yea she had a couple good hits. She's not that big for 13. She is fast though. Running bases she's a beast. We did
the real damage with our 11 year old pitchers. Dd pitched the first game. Second game he pitched his dd a few innings
then sent another in. Our pitches are throwing around mid 40s. No lightning.

Look at it as a blessing in disguise. Playing up may benefit your team if you're creaming you peers.

It's kind of messed up now. Probably call us forfeit on two games or something since season has started. We're really not
geared to play 14u travel teams. Our girls are just a solid 12 u team. I would have said we're a "C" level but maybe we're better
than I thought? More than half our girls are just rec ball players.

DD played fall ball last year for the 1st time in a long time. Like your Team is was a mixture of rec and TB players. Same with the Teams we played against. Rec coach was the HC.

We pitched 5 different pitchers, both rec and Tb, and moved players around and destroyed everyone, not sure how it happened.

Pitching was pretty solid which helps a lot.

There are two lower level organizations (that sanction tournaments) here that will let girls play through fall for their spring age group, so you might have 13 year olds playing against 11 year olds. Most teams still age up for fall anyway, because all the rest you age up for fall. If this tournament was like most of the ones where I live, having 13 year olds would be against the rules. If you're out there clobbering 11 year olds with a team with several 13 year olds, you can see the reason for the rule.

I guess I could see the reason for a rule but not change the rules after the season has started? To age up a team that's never played
together full of 11,12 and a few 13 year old doesn't seem right. This team will be done after the fall season.. Sounds like we're done
right now possibly. We'll see what coach says tomorrow.

In some sanctions, you could theoretically play 12U in the Fall with 13 year-olds, but I've never seen anyone do it.

However, next Spring you'd be in 14U no matter what. I'm not sure what sucks...go play 14U now.

I am not clear. Did they make a new rule or did your coaches not understand the actual rules the league is run under?

Because those are two totally different situations. If they just made a new rule and you have the rulebook (or if it is a sanctioned league their rulebook) they are using in hand - that is BS. If your coaches/org just didn't understand that is their fault.
