Dd made it on a 12u team for fall season. This is more or less a all star team anybody
can try out for. We have rec kids and some travel girls. Coach has a 11yr and a 13yr on team. The cut off is Jan 1 so if your 12 before the new year being 13years old isn't a problem we were told. All birth certificates were turned in.

We creamed two travel teams today. Coach got a call that we're not allowed to play 12u anymore since we have a few 13 yr olds. All of our pitchers are 11 years old. We have practice Monday and will discuss options. This sucks.
The teams we played had a hard time pitching. Our 13 year old hit one over the fence and bounced one off of the fence.

Somewhere something is not right with the ages. If you are a 12U team you should not have any players on your team who are 13 right now in the fall. If you do them they are not eligible to play in the spring. If you have players who turn 13 after the Jan 1 cutoff they are legal. It sounds like your coach does not understand the age cutoff rule.

My DD had an early Feb birthday. She was always one of the older players on the team if she was not playing up. She was still eligible to play 18U after her freshman year of college softball.

Yes marriard our coach asked few times to be clear he could have both his 11 year old and 13 year old play together.
They said it was fine. After we won two games in a row yesterday the travel teams complained. Our coach got the news and sent out
a text to the team last night. All birth certificates were turned in and so on.

Yes spark they wouldn't be able to do this in the spring. This is just a Rec. all star team playing fall ball league. This team will be done.
I don't know birthdays but the 13 year olds were still 12 in January?

I'm with Dandan on this. We've always had age divisions based on calendar year, not softball year. In our league, including the competitive divisions, we have the Jan 1 cutoff. So girls who turned 13 this year can still play 12U even in the fall.

Regardless, it sounds like their coach was told one thing and then had the rules changed on them.

Well they kicked the team up to 14u. She plays today. I moved her back to 43ft the last few times she practiced. Looks
pretty good to me. This should give dd some time to experiment with outside pitches and change ups. I believe our fielding will
keep the teams head above the water.(I hope)

We got beat up first game. Second game we won. The move up to 14u has our
teams fielding ability look terrible.
