There are some great coaches out there, you just have to find them.
3 years ago I would have said the same thing but then we made a big switch, taking a big chance on the opinion of a friend and it was the best decision we could have made.

Could take this OP in more than one way, unironic vs. ironic, ie, 1) you are an unhappy parent and feel those descriptions fit your DD's situation, or 2) you are a coach/satisfied parent laughing at how most parents describe perfectly good travel/high school seasons this way because your DD is being treated 'unfairly'

"Daddyball" and "HS Coach Screwing Up My Kid"

DD did not have a good year this year.

It seemed pertained to someone else's post so I complained.

HS you can be kind off struck, no reason to be in daddyball situation if it is not working out for you.

Andy, thanks for the laugh today. Maybe after this next HS season, I'll do my part to stop screwing up kids. I retire after this school year. I hope all is going well with you and yours!

CB, I'm sorry to hear you are retiring but well-deserved and congrats! Doing well here on this side of the river. Kiddo is working hard to get ready for her junior year but studying abroad for a semester at Trinity College in Dublin in the fall so we will see what next spring brings! :)

Andy

PS Going forward I am promising myself no more sarcastic posts. :) I do understand parents have legit reasons to complain on many occasions. I guess we have been very lucky with coaches including her very good college coaches.

Andy that is great news. I am envious. I would like to go to Ireland. Per the sarcasm, keep it up! Andy, it is pretty neat knowing that your dd is getting to live her dreams. I find it hard to believe that she will be a junior!

One of the sad things is when someone will tell you about a team they are about to join and for whatever reason (history, the story that they are telling) you know it's gonna be daddy ball central. You try to help but no one listens.

Amen Sister! Lol. So glad DD does not have to be playing the musical chairs game at the org that shall not be named for tryouts this year.
