Facebook groups. Kiddo's team still has a couple tournaments left so we're also looking at the teams we may want to go to tryouts for by watching other games and taking in what the parents are saying in the stands.

I've been checking tournament websites to see who is local to my area.

DD and I went to a tournament her team was not playing in to see not just who is local but how does the team play, coaches coach, and parents, well you know.

Depends what you want. I live in Chicago and do not want to travel too much, enough local competition for us.

Big question in my head is what do you want?

She could try to jump to better organization, if she could hit the dang ball.

We know good organization in our area from playing against them.

As the current season winds down and a new one begins where do you look for a new team ?

Each state/area seems to have a particular posting website of facebook group that everyone uses to post tryouts.

However - as others have said, going to local tournaments and looking around for teams you like and talking to coaches is a great way to find a great fit quickly. If you can get a spot nailed down before tryouts even start, that is even more ideal.

We have a couple of websites locally, I don't remember how I found them. One is Hey Bucket that has tryout info for several regions, the Northern CA and Southern CA are the only ones that I have checked out personally but they are very active

We talked to coaches for other teams ask about tryouts got contact information those coaches can actually watch your dd play same day. Be carful and discreet my dd got kicked off her original team for doing this. Now she is on the team with the coach we were interested in. Her tryout was her playing against him. Good luck.

I was approached by a coach (who I knew) and asked if DD was happy on the team she was on. One of her current coach's was standing right there and answered for me with a "NO". He then asked her how she knew to which she replied "She told the head coach she was not a good coach and she would not be back next season".

Yes I talked to her about making that comment in front of the whole team but I will not scold her for telling the truth.

Some coach's are looking at players all the time and will talk to the parents after games. DD went to a local camp with Jennie Finch as the main draw and I got talked to by a few coach's who want her to come try out for them.

Your DD sounds like someone I would get along with :)

Our 2 year run has come to an end. 4 girls need to move up to 14U.
Crazy season as head coach quit
in March. Won 60% of games. Most of the remaining kids have offers from teams or tryout requests but nothing ideal.

Let the musical chairs of the off season begin!!!
