Hotel door posters

Does your team make hotel door poster signs for just Nationals/World Series or any away tournament? Thanks!

In 10u the team mom(s) made up some fairly nice ones for our 3 away tournies (one was worlds). Now we are in 12u they made them up for our first out of towner but don't do it for every one. They will make them up for Nationals and Worlds. My daughter likes to hang them in her room and in the basement when we take them home.

DD's team has little softball cut outs painted up with the team name & the players number. We bring them to all of our tournaments that need a hotel stay. They are only about 10" around & easy to pack.

We did this last summer in VA and there was an incident in the hotel pool with a guest approaching a group of 12U team players. Guest and his family were removed from the hotel. All signs came down after that - don’t think we will do it again. Thankful the girls knew to report it - but it was scary and worse when it turned out it was our next door neighbor. I love the idea of the signs but thought I’d share the downside.

I often thought about that signs were advertising little girls were in that room. My kids are never in the room alone, nor do they really leave the room by themselves. Our coach makes sure to go over hotel etiquette with parents before each year. We had to actually have a sit down with a parent in 10u because they let their little daughter walk around the hotel, late one night, when all the other girls were in their rooms. She is no longer on the team. Our girls are instructed to never walk around the hotel by themselves. We also tell them they are representing the team so behave, we also tell the front desk to quickly let us know if they are misbehaving, they will sit the bench the next day. We have stayed at hotels when other teams kids were awful and almost had a parent to parent brawl with a hockey team's parents once.
