Our team does a lot of travel and was looking at getting a Capital Venture card to earn some rewards and free miles. Any body do this and who do you use and why? Thanks

I am interested to see what others have also! We bank with Bank of America and have a cash back credit card through them. But I want a different one with a higher yield!

Finally, something I can give an expert opinion about...

Credit card companies usually provide a big up-front bonus to sign up for a card. After that bonus, the cards are pretty much the same.

The web site that cover this stuff in detail is "The Point Guy". He has a huge following and does a great job of providing tips for maximizing miles/points.

We have a high end Amex we use for everything.

I like the points and we generally end up using them on Amazon purchases, but if you take advantage of some of their services it is a steal

We use rental car insurance, airport lounge access, companion 1st class tickets, early access tickets to events, status as a couple of hotel chains, discounts on various things and so on. It is like anything - you have to take the time to understand what they have available and then take advantage of it.

I actually found the site you linked right after I posted my OP and it is very useful. I am surprised it doesn't list the Venture card as I know it is popular. Thanks for all the replies so far

As was suggested by our financial planner, we use a Capital One Venture card. We have a son who is in college. His university accepts payment by credit card so tuition and room/board go on the credit card. We redeem the points accumulated on travel ball lodging, which covers most of our hotel costs depending on the amount of travel that season.

Wow that is awesome. I am taking some classes as well, to use a credit card is a pain because there is a $65 charge to use one. I admit I am not the most credit/financial savvy person, but I have good credit. I just haven't payed attention to all the benefits and who has the best rewards etc. I want to change that and am considering all the options.

Costco Citi Banki Visa has pretty nice cash back rewards. We use this for all expenses now, and got back almost $1,000 cash our first year. You do need to be a costco member to get this card. We are executive members, so we will get another $300 to $400 from that reward program as well.

4% on Gas Purchases, from any gas station, not just costco.
3% on restaurant and eligible travel expenses.
2% on purchases from costco and costco.com
1% on all other purchases.
