PC talking to my DD- When you figure it out in your head you are going to be awesome. DD- Can you explain that to me? LOL. He was telling her that her form is very good and to throw hard. Then he looks at me and says start pushing her to throw harder. Me- Our goal is 50 at 12 and she turns 12 next month. PC- Looks at her and said on your birthday you better be throwing 50. DD- I'm not coming on my birthday.

She's at 49 on a good day.

LOL.. to be 12 again!

Tell her to make her goal to hit 55 by next month, then 50 will seem like nothing :)

DD hit 49 on almost every pitch today. Told her mom that she hit 49.9 every pitch. LOL. Highest we had ever had her was 47 but I knew she was hitting 49 some days. We have only clocked her a few times this year.

My DD is 14 and she is right at 60..
The closer you get to that magic number (50/60) the harder it seems to get. Take a few weeks off from talking about it and watch the magic happen.

Sounds like your DD is doing awesome! She was actually really proud to hit 49. It's not a big deal for us. Thanks for the advice.

I help coach a 8u boys travel ball team. Sunday we were practicing stealing bases, and defending the stolen base. So there is 4 kids at 2nd base taking their turn stealing 3rd base. I ask the kids that are waiting for their turn to yell " stealing " every time a runner steals. I repeatedly asked some of the kids to keep to keep yelling " stealing " but they are 8 and don't follow directions all that well yet. No big deal. So I tell the kids whoever doesn't yell " stealing " on the next has to run some sprints. Next pitch there is one kid that doesn't yell "stealing" so I ask him why he didn't yell that he was stealing. The kid tells me that he really likes to run sprints and he would rather run sprints than yell stealing.

I just walked away laughing and told the kid, I guess that didn't go as planned.

Congratulations!!
She is now believing in herself, I'm sure. This is a great way for her to learn the lesson of setting goals and working towards them. So many kids fail to set goals. When a kid writes down a goal the real magic begins to happen ;)
