At some of our rec games this season, there's one organization that does the prayer circles after games and sometimes our team will join in. The first game it happened, I think a few parents were like - to the girls walking off and not joining in - guys get back there! And another parent said, they don't have to join if they don't want to. I think some parents want their kids to do it but I'm glad some of our parents weren't forcing all of the girls in it. I'm just glad DD is not the only one who doesn't do them.

My DD does them. She considers them a mildly amusing annoyance I think. They seem to just rip through the Lord's Prayer in an unintelligible monotone most of the time. To me if it's not going to be at least somewhat heartfelt it's just a waste of time. Get off the field for the next game instead.
I'll preface all of my comments with this. I'm as southern as it gets, I'm a Baptist Deacon, I played ball and went to a Baptist University.
I'm not a fan of Prayer Circles. I don't assume to know anyone's religious affiliation or preference and I do not want to put in divide between my players and each other or me, intentionally or not.
