I can't imagine I'm the first to ask this, but I've yet to find the answer...

I have the lynkspyder, the goPro, and now some good video of a scrimmage. So where do I store the video? I've used an external hard drive in the past for storage of files only to have it fail when I needed the information. Is there an online / cloud option and do you likely have to pay for it? I'm somewhat familiar with Google Drive, but that is about it. Any suggestions on where to store all of the footage?

Once the season gets underway I plan on streaming most of the games to Facebook for family, friends, and fans. I assume I'll be able to leave those games there.

We have a server and that's where we keep them. They take up a ton of space if you keep the raw files.

2 external drives. Backup one to the other. Cloud storage for that kind of space will cost you a lot of money. Plus the time it takes to upload that stuff will be huge. IDK about you, but my home internet speed is 10mb/s up. After a full weekend of recording I'd have over 60GB of video files.

I agree on the online cloud thing. YouTube is free. But unless you have great internet, it is painfully slow to upload. I buy multiple 1TB external drives a year. I use the small USB drives that don't require power when we are out in the field. These are fast and easy to store in the bag. But it is important to note that these have older laptop hard drives. They are generally not solid state (no moving parts) unless you paid a ton for them. So very susceptible to damage, especially if dropped. For long term storage, I use the larger devices that require power. If they require power, they usually have a 3.5" desktop drive in it. Again, generally not solid state unless you paid a ton, but still more reliable. I copy from the mobile external to the big external when I get home. But I always keep the video on the mobile device. So this ensures that after an event, I always have 2 copies, in case of failure.

I have 3TB of video on drives but I now just use YouTube. It's about 10 minutes to upload a 90 minute game. With youtube you can keep the videos private.
The most time consuming part is joining the 10 minute clips together. The reprocessing takes 5 hours.

Google photos will give you unlimited storage as long as the video is 1080p or below. It's also pretty easy to share with others and you can import them over to YouTube easily if you want to make some public later.
