The wind and cold has been brutal for us southerners ;) Especially when we got that nice weekend in the 70s. I just wish the rain would go away - it can rain during the week all it wants but stop on Saturdays!

I know. The first HS round robin was on Feb 19th and I wore shorts and got a little sun. The next two weekends we played in the 70's. I guess the first couple of weeks spoiled me. Here in Alabama when you ask if it's going to be hot or cold today the answer is yes.

Here in Indiana, it's a balmy 27°, gloomy sky's, light dust of snow, and the sun is acting really shy... He only peeks out from behind the clouds occasionally!

Kind of related but this is DD first season playing TB so I'm not sure how all of this works. What conditions would cause the TD to cancel a tournament. This weekend in GA, it's calling for some showers and maybe a thunderstorm. It could change prior to Saturday but how long would they let it rain and still have a tournament? Do they do a better job of dealing with the rain on the fields?
We had rain last weekend and our rec games still played - it was pretty light though.
Last summer they cancelled a state tournament due to rain coming in because there were teams traveling from further away even though it wasn't super bad.
Just hate the idea of the whole thing being cancelled if it doesn't need to be.

Here in NJ, we had a couple of weeks in February of sunshine and temps in the 50's. I actually allowed myself to hope that we might get outside early this season. Alas, the parade of nor'easters has left a coating of icy slush to insulate the mud underneath. Poor DD is tired of fielding grounders off the gym floor...

Most the time you will get a full refund if there are no games played so they are usually hesitant to cancel all the games.

If they have the right equipment fields can be cleanup pretty quickly if it stops raining.

Quite a few domes around here in SE Mich, so we've played 6 indoor dome tourneys since October as well as indoor league. The org my DD plays for has it's own dome, so we're not too cooped up when we practice, but I'm definitely ready to get back outside.

Yep. Tomorrow was supposed to be dd’s first HS game. Canceled. Next week we’re supposed to have 3 games. I doubt that will happen, either. Luckily we head to Florida the following week for 6 games - probably perfect timing to return home in April to more snow and cold weather BS.

I looked at the 10 day forecast a couple of minutes ago and it looks like possibly 2 playable days in the next 10 and one of those is a Sunday. Ugh. Hopefully, the forecast is about as accurate as usual but I doubt it in this instance.
