    Default Grandfather

(Started this a few times and deleted, might not be appropriate for forum)

DD has been lucky enough to have all 4 of her grandparents come to most her games, mostly softball but other sports as well.

One passed last week and we are going to miss him, games will not be the same.

He would come with his lawn chair and sit in the OF with me and we would talk for hours.

DD pitches and even though we are well a way from everyone he would complain votousiously about how much our Team had to help her, had to ask settle down a few times. DD could do no wrong in his eyes. She could walk or hit 10 batters in an inning, catchers fault.

Anyways, softball is going to be different without him.

I have a grandchild now. It is a special experience to be around them. I'm sure he enjoyed every second of it.

    Sorry for your families loss.

My father sounds a lot like your daughters grandfather. Sometimes he is a little too much into a game. My son plays 8u travel baseball, the hardest throwing kid on the team was pitching so the coach had the infield shifted a little bit to the opposite field. My dad started shouting from the stands telling the kids to move their positioning. The coach had to ask my dad if he could be quiet and let him coach the team. I laugh about it now but at the time it was kind of embarrassing.

Condolences Quincy, my sympathies to you and yours. My Dad passed a year ago this coming week. He bragged about my girls softball stuff all the time. They miss him greatly and dedicated a few games last year to him. I also have a granddaughter now and look forward to the day when I can just (more or less) relax on the sidelines and watch with pride rather than make mental notes of what we're going to work on! ;-)

Quincy, I am so sorry to hear that! What a blessing that they had such a relationship with him and his constant support.
