I just want to thank everyone for these updates - going to have my HS freshmen read them so she can get a more realistic expectation of what it will be like in four years. Please keep the info coming!

Fall of freshman year is a big adjustment for most kids and when you add on playing a varsity sport at the college level it can be downright intimidating and demoralizing

- Lifting every day plus practice and then seeing the trainer and icing etc... takes a lot of time
- Going from being the BEST player on your team to being a freshman who might not play can be a huge adjustment
- The coach who was so positive when you were a recruit can be a bear if you are struggling
- life is not fair
- Oh by the way you have to go to class and maintain your grades and deal with mandatory study hall and tutors
- You miss your mom your dad and your dog

Growing up is hard! I hope all the DDs playing college ball are remembering to enjoy the ride!

DD seems to be thriving in workouts and practices. She is doing well academically, with one lower grade. She and her roommate get along well. She adores most of her teammates. She is tired, but loving college.

She was the third fastest in the mile time trial, behind 2 upperclassmen. She’s near the high side with the weightlifting.

They only played two fall games. She didn’t tell me about them until they were over. To her, it wasn’t a big deal because its just part of the routine.
