Nothing going on, just chilling at a friends house and watching the fight. Practice on Sunday and that's about it. Maybe hit some balls to my dd tonight.

DD1 starts Fall practices today. DD2 pitching lesson tomorrow and then to the Lake Sunday for day with next seasons players and parents.

My DDs are away for the weekend with my wife, feeling the lack of softball.

My girls have been on different teams for a while. DD2, who had been less serious about softball, wanted to be on a team that was more casual than her twin sister's team. I've had days when I had to drive back and forth between counties to get them to their different practices, head east to drop off DD1, then head west, way past my home, to get DD2 to her practice, and then back east to pick up DD1 when DD2 was done.

DD2 now wants to take the game a lot more seriously and tried out for her twin sister's team. She made it! Makes my life so much easier.

She's been in non-stop SB mode for a couple of weeks now - though she got one day off this week

Travel ball season is officially behind us but team party is scheduled for tomorrow. Should be fun. 5 players are off to college, so there will be some 'good byes' involved...

Tournament was cancelled as teams are still sorting out after the summer. Playing a Friendly Sunday.

DD has a middle school game tonight. Tomorrow the plan is to get some yard work done in the morning and go to a buddies house for some poker, shrimp boil, and the fight that evening. Sunday she has travel ball practice and plan to chill out and enjoy this weather in the afternoon.

Back from Nashville where we took the entire family to visit a cousin of mine who teaches at Vanderbilt. He has an astronomer friend, so we got an invite to an eclipse party and saw the eclipse from the driveway of the astronomer's house.

We dropped DS back at school in Milwaukee on the way home. He missed his NCAA meeting, but he was still able to practice rowing temporarily after filling out some forms.
Yesterday took DD 1 to move in to her new apartment.

DD 2 and DD 3 are going to a HS football game tonight (NOT with each other).

DD 3 started practices with her new team, the GRB Rays. Loves it. She got tips on the riseball from an assistant coach who was famous in these parts for her riseball. That coach is a senior at Drake now, and is 6' 1". BIG girl, and very sweet.
DD 3's close friend, a catcher, also made the team, so they will be practicing together.

DD2 first fallball seeding tournament sat and sunday....sad that DD1 wanted to take fall off. but she did it in her words because.. " I want to train during fall..i want to learn to pitch and get my catcher skills back up to where they should be.." Shes moving up to 12u and realizes that she wont get much if any time to pitch if she moves up to 12u and plays fallball. wants to take the time and work on both skill sets before spring season begins....

kinda proud of her and my youndest DD.. the younger DD asked a lot if she could play fallball after not playing in allstars...

DD is at a teammate' s house watching movies with the rest of the HS varsity. 2 weeks into senior season, 4-2 record, she already has more extra base hits than all of last year. Highlight so far is a HR in her first senior at bat. Also her first HS HR.
