IMO, by 16U if she is not 100% sure if she wants to play in college, then think you have your answer. Stay with her friends on the "B" team and enjoy the time with them. The other factor is having time for school work and study. If she is on the travel ball team, it eats away at her study time, when grades are the most important (sophomore - senior years).

Our family has not seen travel ball eating away study time. Well, she had to leave school 2 hours early for an exposure event a couple of years ago in late October. She has missed far more school and study time for her high school team.

I just paid the initial fee for the A team.
This was DD 3's decision. She bugged me last year, but I started a new job about a year ago, and it would not have worked then.
This year she thinks she is ready. It will be tough to say goodbye to her old coach and her old team.

VERY mixed emotions.

Well done. It is tough to hand over the keys, but it is the best thing to do.

She has complete ownership of the move to a better team. She is invested in making the move a success.
