Love Colorado. Glad to be home. Miss Colorado.

Now that I am back from Colorado, settled down and doing this work thing. I want to take a moment to reflect on the past week and share with some of you, especially with my peeps from the softball community.

Every once in a while I will get asked was the trip to Colorado expensive, or how much was it? Almost $2500 That included meals, gas, hotel and general spending. Plus we did a college camp. Was it expensive? For me,Yep! Only because I'm cheap. LOL Would I do it again? Yep! (I should've spent more on the hotel. Place was a dump)

The time you spend with your kids is some of the most valuable time you can accomplish. They're are many out there that would make the excuse, " I can't afford it!" Maybe that's true. If you save your money, make the hustle and make some side cash you can do this trip.

Yea spending this kind of dough would have been nice to use towards fishing or maybe towards something material. Investing time with my daughter and seeing her play at a level of softball is memories we will have the rest of our life's. We can talk about this trip, reflect back and have some great laughs about it too.

I'm not going to get all MasterCard on you and say this trip was "Priceless." What I will say is, what is the reason we get our kids into activities? Its so they can be better adults. Hopefully in five to seven years I can reflect back on this post with my dd, and hopefully she will be a strong minded women with goals and ambitions about her future....

Out of town at a tournament now. 4 day tournament. Yesterday the girls were sloppy in the first pool play game, played very well in the nightcap.

This morning they were very, very, very, very sloppy against a team they should've beaten. That is the 3rd time in the last 2 tournaments they have lost to that team. Whenever they play that particular team, the wheels fall off the bus.

If they win this afternoon, they play tomorrow. If not, an early exit.

Team played hard last weekend. We were missing one of our key players due to a death in her family. Also, my DD was still in Europe for a school trip. Yet, we managed to win our State Championship tournament (USA Softball). Playing in a smaller tournament this weekend and hoping to avoid a hangover from last week's event.

We're off and planned to pick up with a team DD loves to play with. They're in another state though, and were playing relatively close to where we live. With all the rain, they're not sure it's going to happen and decided to back out rather than have their families all make the drive. Good decision probably, plus it's really freaking hot and humid. I was in the grocery store about to check out with all the tournament snacks when I got the message. Had to wander around and put it all back. Oh well. Now I think we'll spend tomorrow at the pool or doing nothing. Both, probably. We'd rather be at the ball field but that does sound nice too. This would've been our last regular 10U tournament, but now I guess last week was. We've only got our world series left now. Then it's off to bigger and better things (12" instead of 11").

Chicagoland ASA Metros tournament. As usual, they are underperforming in pool play...maybe they enjoy the challenge of a harder Bracket draw??
