Zooming into a Friday Check in 6/9/17

Well we have Zoom into June this weekend. So going to busy. Hopefully everything comes together this weekend for WarriorAngela. Other than that, just watching.


Had HS awards banquet last night, nice to see some of the awards get passed out.


Ok whats going on with you??

We're playing in USSSA A State. It's our first A level tournament as a team. One of our key infielders in injured another is out of town, so we have pick ups. Should be interesting at least.

DD's team is off this weekend. Going to help with a practice tonight for our summer developmental program. Tomorrow catch some of the other teams from our league playing. Sunday will work on those mechanical pitching flaws so my new nickname of 'Skippy' for my DD doesn't stick.

1st tournament of the year. Up in Napa, really excited to see how our team does. 12B. We held our own against our org's 12A and 14B team in scrimmages so I'm cautiously optimistic.

It's the first tournament since HS season ended for DD and a number of her teammates. It's a 14U team and I've seen a big difference in development from the 2nd yrs who played HS this spring and the 1st yrs who just practiced. This is the first time the entire team will be together since the winter. Thus far this spring they've played ugly, so we'll see if they can pull it together.

Sunday is DD's HS banquet, the only freshman to make varsity so it should be pretty special.

DD's 8U MP rec team is entered in a local MP tourney with travel ball teams. Rec team is 12-1 but competition is horrible..hoping they don't their
butts kicked in too bad but am not optimistic. My only wish is that the girls have a good time and it is a good learning experience for them.

After going 1-11 and getting outscored 137-29 the last two weekends. DD team thankfully has the weekend off. One more double header league night on Thursday, then time to regroup and prepare for fall.

DD's 10u rec team played playoff game last night (2v3 in 3 team division), won 7-6. great game, team went to bat in bottom of 6th tied at 6. Dd led off, explained to her during change over that we needed her on base (previously 2 for 2, with a double, went home on a bad throw). 4 pitch walk (I tried to scream to her from 1B to swing at 4th pitch regardless, just to see if she could get something to hit next pitch). DD stole (technically WP or PB) to 3B. during those steals, one batter walks, one Ks. so with one out, runners on corners, other big hitter for our team comes up, hits ball to F5, who throws to 1B, DD scores (she scored all three times she got on base). For team as a whole, best game they played all year. most outs were Ks, but a couple pop flys caught, couple F4-F3 outs, and outfield reacted to balls, kept them in front of them, and got ball in decently. RF one inning made attempt to get under fly ball to shallow RC.

part that had me laughing, was on last play after throw to 1B (which was errant), opposing coaches were still yelling about getting the ball and getting it in. I guess they had no idea game was over when DD crossed the plate. PU interrrupted them and said line em up.

we play #1 in division tonite, 0-2 against them this year, but least game was only a couple of runs. DD is excited, will probably catch entire game (last nights game she pitched 3, caught 3 innings). then on to All Stars, and 1.5 TB tourneys. complication is it is senior prom for DS, so gonna be running all over.
