Hey ive seen obnoxious with the wrong team. I know of a local team that did the built wagon and sound system. It was totally annoying when on a 10 field multiplex you could hear the music over everyone. Kinda like short man syndrome.

I also agree with SMS90. That is a coaching issue not a music issue. The players should not adjust for the music, the music adjusts to the situation.

I have seen the new app that lets you cut 10 seconds and then it announces the players name and number. While very cool it is a little over the top for 10-12u.

What is the name of the app?

While we are at it, I am also not a fan of the opposing teams bringing buckets that are used as make shift drums to play the entire game. Artificial noise makers are not allowed in our state, but not all umpires enforce this...

Possibly. And I could see how a parent with a deft hand and respect for the game could do it correctly.

But I think it's easy to go from "fun for the girls" to "obnoxious" with the wrong parent.

We picked up with a team that played music between innings while the girls were warming up. I've got no problem with that and it's kind of fun. But the Dad in charge of the music kept texting or talking to people and spacing out and forgetting to turn off the music when they started play again. Happened three times in one game and the umpire was getting pissed.

The more aggressive the walk up music, the more effective the first pitch changeup.

While my DD's team does not use walk up music, they'll run up the score in effort to make the other team's walk up music go away. Is that bad/wrong?

Regional differences I guess. Walk up music to me just seems obnoxious. But if I was in an area that everyone was doing it...I guess I would become accustomed to it. I don't mind the in between inning music while the girls are throwing the ball around and taking warm up pitches etc...as long as it is kept down. Not a good deal for the typical four plex ball fields. Some teams forget that just because their game is in between innings...does NOT mean the other three diamonds full of people want to hear their music blaring.

Have never seen walk up music in high school games...Illinois side of St Louis area.

Two things that got me thinking about walk up music, 1. its part of the USSSA player profile and 2. how cool and it was at Mizzou softball and how you got a glimpse of each players personality.
