At the moment, I think my kid would pick "Stone Cold Crazy" or "Fuel" by Metallica \m/...

...or something by Justin Bieber

Lol!! DH was telling DD that she should walk out to Metallica, FFDP, or anything aggressive if she makes Allstars this year. She told him she'd probably pick a Taylor Swift or Luke Bryan song. I think he's hoping they nix the music this year!

DD never picks her own music. We try, and she won't commit, so we pick for her. Then she tells HC's wife we never let her pick her music. True story. Right now it's the peppy part of Bohemian Rhapsody, which is her favorite karaoke song. She's also had Invincible by OK Go, Boom Shake the Room (DJ Jazzy Jeff) and Hall of Fame, whoever that's by. She kind of picked that one. I'm sure one day a song will really grab her. Til then she'll just settle for whatever I pick I guess.

DD 12u team is debating using walk up music for when the players come up to bat. My thoughts are that I can see it as something fun for the girls, however I can also see how it could get annoying I'm curious to others opinions and experiences are with and about walk up music.

I mentioned this to my daughter (age 13) recently, and she scoffed and said, "That's just for rec."

I remember hearing music at the younger B/C level TB tournaments, but by the time we reached 14U A-level it seemed to disappear. Some high schools use it and I know some colleges do too, but those are 7 inning games on a single field.

Funny story - I was announcing one of DD's HS games a couple of years ago. Between innings I was using Pandora to play music over the loudspeakers with my phone. A Katie Perry song came on that I had heard several times before on the radio in the car with the kids. Well right in the middle of the song she starts dropping F-bombs. Apparently I had only heard the "radio friendly" version of the song...

They were doing music at the KSU game we went to a few weeks ago so it's not JUST rec ;) At least from 8U to 12U, it seems like every team at the park has music.

DD's HS team has walk-up songs. It is really fun for the girls (and for the fans - some are hilarious) and since it is a high school game it is 7 innings, no time limit. I cannot see the feasibility of doing it at a tourney game though...

Why not? TB teams have walk up music all the time. I don't see the difference...?

10 years of TB here (midwest) and have never heard walk-up music in a tourny. Hear it a little at some HS games (not ours for whatever reason), but it's not widespread.
