DD is a freshman and will have her first HS tryouts next month. She's been working hard to prepare and I think she's got a decent shot at making varsity. I know she'll be disappointed in anything less, but she hasn't shown any anxiety leading up to it yet. I think I'll be more nervous for her than she will be herself.

Fun times! I am working with several girls who are getting ready for HS tryouts right now and it is fun watching them.

I spoke to someone in Colorado the other day. He said HS softball is more of a FALL sport then a Spring Sport in CO....

Is that true?

Yep, if we tried playing the HS season in the Spring out here it'd be pretty sketchy considering all of the snow storms we get March, April and May. At least with our Travel team we can come to your house and play when Mother Nature throws a blanket down! Haha

Don't blink...4 years goes by awfully fast.

Take pictures. LOTS and LOTS of pictures. Take them of the entire team. Make a pest of yourself with the camera. It'll keep you occupied during the games and you'll think more about getting the perfect action shot or just the right expression on a face instead of worrying about every little detail of the game. You'll find yourself going back and looking at them long after her softball career is over.

I have 1,000's of pictures from HS, travel and college ball. I'm glad I did it.

I'm glad you can look forward to it. in my case its "Let the Drama begin!"
DD is a captain this year and we are in Captains practice #3 and the back-stabbing has begun already (and that's just among the 4 captains)
