I'd like to know the end goal and I think others are wondering the same thing. If she just wants to play then option A. If she wants to get better more than play, I say option B. Playing a lot makes you better for sure, but if you're going to hit .500 against C pitching then what's the point? You're not going to get better. Option 2 might be a better situation. She works hard, gets better and maybe she becomes the starting catcher or shows she's better at another position and takes someone else's spot.

On the C team, she would probably become one heck of a blocker if the pitching is really that bad. Will sharpen her skills a lot, although it could be very frustrating and tiring.

What are her goals? Does she want to play in HS? She’d catch more on the C team, but she won’t improve. Take the better coaching and the one game a weekend behind the plate. With 10 girls on the team she’ll see lots of innings at other positions. I’m not sure if your DD is also an OF or if you think that’s one step up from the bench. By 14U a lot of balls are hit out there. She’d see action and wouldn’t get bored. The weaker pitching won’t help her batting or catching. If she’s at all competitive she’ll get frustrated playing with girls who are learning the basics and have trouble catching or throwing. Playing with better girls will motivate her. Hook up with one of the pitchers and catch when they’re at lessons or practicing to see more reps. She’ll pick up on a lot of things to be able to help her pitchers too. Catch for the same girl enough and she may request to have you catch for her in games. Good luck and hope she has a great season!
