Ps. I also confronted the mother...she denied denied denied. She's the only one who would do this...her son confirmed it to my daughter as well as the girl's ex boyfriend and best friend. She basically bragged about "destroying my DD's life" and told everyone she was addicted to narcotic pain killers. To top it off...she also told everyone my older daughter (who is an APRN) stole it from the hospital and provided it to her! Lawyer said can't pursue slander in that case because there is no written proof and it's all rumor spread by teenagers....life can be such a b**** sometimes can't it?

Given the last two posts further explaining the circumstances, my lawyer would be meeting with the school district Superintendent

What exactly was your daughter doing in the picture with a pixie stick? If she was "pretending" to snort drugs, it would be important to discuss with her about how things can easily be misconstrued in pictures / social media. There's a lesson here for all of our daughters. Even if you're trying to be funny, it can be easy for pictures or words to be manipulated into something that can be detrimental to their reputation and possibly their future.

That said, I feel for your daughter's situation and wish her the best of luck this season. Hope everything works out.

We all know these "families" they are "pillars of the community" and are basically untouchables.

I WOULD NOT harp on the team captain thing...you are right it does seem petty and is not going to get you anywhere.

How are team captains picked? Coach or players? If it is the coaches decision not much you can do about it given scared young teacher/coach is being bullied to.

I would just tell your DD to befriend as many girls on the team that are like minded and just make it through the year if that is what you have to do; it does not have to be in a way that divides the team just once practice and games are over they all choose to get themselves as far away from this girl as possible.

Oh sorry, we live a civil society now. So maybe just a talk and invite the girl over for cookies to the house. THEN JUMP HER!!!

Eh...back in school I definitely remember several dares regarding snorting pixie stix or lime salt. I can't imagine my school was the only one where kids made those dares....

Now you all got me thinking-DD needs to befriend a mean brawler type who will meet the bully and take care of business.
Not to the extent of duct tape rope and a shovel, but a message?

I am joking
