The $$ issue doesn't bother me...I know it's going to be expensive for TB & with both of my girls playing it'll be two fold. What irritates me the most is that the lack of planning. Throwing this on us with 2 days notice is what irritated me the most. I know weekend life will evolve around TB, but come on, give us at least a week's notice...I mentioned in my original post that the coach said we "might" have a friendly when we asked after last weekend's friendly. If he would've said I have this in the works & you may have to donate your time & $ I would've been ok with that!! I know I'll just suck it up, but I feel an uprising brewing cause I know some of the other parents are a little more livid! Oh well...play ball!!

We've been bless to have had some excellent travel coaches throughout the years. They were all great students and teachers of the game. Very few were good with administrative tasks or being organized. Feel blessed that you have a team Mom willing to take some of their work on and just roll with it.

Does it bother you enough to stick your hand up and organize team fundraising yourself moving forward?

If not then go with it.

You can tell the other parents who are livid the same - if you don't like it, help out.

I am a big fan of coaches who set the expectations up front BEFORE families agree to join the team. Not knowing what is going on week to week and "sudden" changes are not good for team moral....and leads to conflict.

Fundraising is the toughest part for us, small organization. Hard to get everyone together. This is good info, if you have better ideas, share them. Get involved, help out. Or just ask what you owe, and let the team mom handle it.

The good coaches are very organized and will have your schedule spelled out for you. However, even the best plans can change. Two days heads up is not unheard of on our team, but it is also not the norm. Either you want to be on a competitive team, or you don't.
