DW has no clue about level of plays or apparently age groups. A Team needed a player to play this past weekend so somehow DD was free came up and she was invited to play. DW asked me first and I told her to ask DD, if she wanted to play let her play. It is fall ball, how much trouble can you get into.
I think we got the time wrong so we were at the game first from our Team, I asked the opposing coach what age and level it was. Of course it is an age group older then DD and one level higher. It is fall ball, how much trouble can you get into.
I think the HC made the mistake of asking DD where she liked playing so she started the game at 1st, HC has never meet my DD so that is the only reason I can think of she ended up on 1st. She did a good enough job at 1st they moved her to SS for a few innings. She didn’t do anything great but did not make any mistakes and made all the plays. We had the fall ball double header and she played RF/CF the entire 2nd game. We only had 8 players so she got a workout backing up bases/ players. She did make 1 silly mental error playing RC.
Batting she had the highest OBP, scored the most runs and did not strike out in either game.
HC gave DD an open invitation to practice with the Team, which was reiterated the next day, or to join the Team.
DW is starting to figure out DD Is not a bad ball player so TB is back into the picture for next year. It was a good experience for all of us. I still think DD is done for the year to work on VB and pitching.
Funny story, after the 1st game DD came running over and told me she was going to pitch in the 2nd game. She has never pitched from 43’ and has not been practicing pitching at all for a few weeks. I told her great but make sure that your HC warms you up. HC warmed her up and she never saw the circle which was OK by me.
Really nice players, parents and coaches!
