Given a 60-minute clinic for each age group and no indicated limit on the number of pitchers/clinic, how much hello elbow can one realistically expect to learn? Babies always need new shoes and this is a legitimate way to make a buck, but call it what it is - an appearance and autograph session. From a big picture perspective, you have to consider it progress towards gender equality when some of the elite FP ladies can take advantage of opportunities that traditionally have been reserved for their male counterparts.

What annoys me about things like this is the pricing. Just charge $75 per participant. Carlos Gonzales had a camp last summer and it was $99 per kid, but then they charged $20 for the photos with him. Just charge $119 and include the photos so people don't feel like they are being nickle and dimed.

DD had an opportunity to go to one of these "camps". We chose to go to the cages and hit a few hundred balls instead. Much better use of $$$$ in my opinion.

My first reaction is ridiculous. My second reaction is maybe she will inspire girls to try for bigger and better things and that's part of what you're paying for. But then my third reaction is how many girls under 14 know who she is or saw her play?

And totally agree about the nickel and dime comment. Just charge it up front for something like this that is 90% publicity appearance, 10% learning.

My DD is 11 and she knows. She read Jennie's book and loved it.
