How much lessons during off-season?

DD is only 8 going on 9, and she plays fall ball as a 1st-year 10U on a select team.

She gets one hitting and one pitching lesson once every 2 weeks. So far she has played 4 games and only received 2 good strikes pitched to her, since most kids in 1st-year 10U cannot pitch strikes, which is what we expected. (Boasting alert: As a pitcher, she had so far only allowed one walk and no hit.)

My question is, the fall season will be over in a few weeks, and her team will not practice again until Jan. In the meantime, how often should we pay for hitting and pitching lessons? We will continue to work with her at home, but for a 9-year old, shouldn't we give her a few months off? Would it be ok to bring her to lesson only once a month?

She is a good hitter, and her HC actually thinks we should play her up in 12U. He warned she won't see many strikes and no amount of lessons would keep her sharp without real strikes pitched to her. So we don't know whether to invest more hitting and pitching lessons during the off-season.

DD was all in or all out. Once a month might not be good enough, better just shut her down for a little while.

She wants to go hit, great not sure about lessons though.

(She worked her butt off 1 off season, the coach did not know what to do with her. It showed she worked her butt off)

We do lessons once a week and practice 2-3X per week on our own (outside of team practices) during playing time. After our July world series we take 6 weeks where we only do pitching lessons, and maybe practice a little here and there but nothing major. When tournaments kick back in in Sep we go back to normal until our last tournament in November. After that, we take off all things softball including lessons and independent practices (we still go to team practices) until the new year at which point we resume our regular schedule. So she ends up having about 12 weeks a year mostly off of softball. Mine just turned 10. I think the down time is very important, and it has not affected her negatively. We were forced to take time off last year due to elbow tendinitis. She came back better than ever and mentally fresh and ready to play again. So now it's policy, it worked out so well.

What does she want to do? Does she enjoy the lessons and at-home practice? If she wants to continue to work on her skills, keep at it. If she doesn't have the motivation, let her shut it down.

As for getting practice hitting moving balls, do LOTS of front toss with her. Put yourself behind a net at whatever distance you need to throw with reasonable accuracy at an appropriate speed.

From the time my DD started playing at 8U (now 12yo), I don't think there's ever been more than 2 weeks where my DD wasn't doing something for her softball skills, and that includes times when she had to work around an injury (broken fingers, achillies issues, knee sprain, etc.). This has all been driven by my DD's desire to be a better player. She understood early on that getting better required lots of work outside of team practices and games.

My DD goes to weekly 30 minute pitching lessons year round, with a few weeks off here and there for a variety of reasons. She goes year round because her pitching coach is very popular, and if we were to take an extended break there is a good chance another pitcher would claim DD's time slot.

Pitching lessons once every other week. Throw 3x a week, not on consecutive days. Take off from all softball activities mid-July (whenever tournament season is over) to mid-August and Thanksgiving to New Years.

What's an "off season"?

In general, keep up the lessons year round and practice frequently 3x a week if she wants to be an above average pitcher. I don't think you can dabble in pitching and stay competitively strong in the circle. Make short term and long term goals (e.g. in 6 months learn a change up, throw 5mph faster by year end, etc.)
