What type of weightlifting or exercises can I use to increase bat speed and exit velocity. Looking to improve in these areas without hurting the effectiveness of the live swing.
All of this.I also like having DD toss a medicine ball and do russian twists with it or a kettlebell.
There's nothing wrong with simply doing pushups, sit ups and crunches every day. DD says she does them on the floor of her room every morning before she gets dressed--unless she has overslept.
I liked what Longwood University tweeted the other day "Strong Grip = Long Bombs!"
I should have made that more clear. It had a photo of a player caring Olympic plates with her fingers. She doesn't teach a death grip on the bat! Like Candrea, she feels grip and forearm strength to be one of the most important areas to focus on.
