I've emailed PGF 5x now with no response from them. Our team is trying to figure out our travel schedule and I'm wanting to find out if a tournament that has always taken place on a particular weekend will take place again on the same weekend in 2016. The tournament (historically) is in early January - which means we need to get our act together to book flights, hotel, rental cars, for the team and the parents (since we are travelling cross-country). The team is ready to move forward but without official dates from PGF, we can't move forward. Thoughts? Advise on how to best proceed?

Thank you!

Which tournament? Many of the PGF-sanctioned events are also listed on the host org's site (e.g. Surf City Tourneys for SoCal events).

Whom have you emailed? If it was a national contact, you should try the state/region director for the event's location.

SoCal Dad, it's the Huntington Beach one in February. I've emailed both the Surfcity Tournament folks as well as the PGF folks. No response from Surfcity folks. I did get a 1 line response from PGF finally. I asked for the dates of the 2016 tournament and they gave me 2015 dates. So frusrtating!

Frustrating face is supposed to go at the end of my post. But it showed up at the start. ugh!

I'm assuming you're in SoCal. Do you know if the weekends essentially stay the same year after year? Thanks!

I just checked with my PGF contact and he says "they should be activated by next week."

The Presidents Day Classic is for HS teams and on that holiday weekend (2/13-15). The Valentine's Day Tournament is the weekend before (2/6-7).

Thank you very much SoCal Dad!!! I've been checking their website daily and nothing. No one ever calls back. So I'm absolutely grateful that you were able to get dates! Thanks again!!!

A couple of things...

- Early January events usually provide better exposure as many/most college coaches are occupied with their own teams by Feb.

- Winter is our wettest season and it looks like we're going to get more rain than normal this year.
- - Massive El Niño is now 'too big to fail,' scientist says - LA Times
- - US El Nino Forecast: California, East to Bear Brunt of Impacts This Winter

Yikes! I know that I'm hoping against all hope but, I'm truly hoping that it won't be as bad as they say its going to be. We'll be in Hawaii over Christmas and New Year and then in SoCal in early Feb. It will be a very wet couple of months if this El Nino forecast comes to fruition. Unfortunately, our travel plans for Hawaii and the Team's travel plans for the SoCal 's Valentine's Day tournament has already been committed.
