Does anyone play the national anthem before the the first set of games everyday? I've not been to a tournament where they did. I remember doing this before baseball tournaments when I was a kid and wondered why we don't do it in softball.

I have heard it at Pony Nationals but that is it. Might be a lack of sound systems at a lot of fields.
I'm as patriotic as they come, but I think we over do it with the national anthem.

Quite a few of our tournaments play the anthem before the first game of pool play. We play different parks and different associations; I would assume its park specific.
Our rec league did it before the 12U tourney and before the All Star tourney. My DS LL All Stars played it as well. I like it, but I'm sure it depends on sound system availability.

Our girls at 12U would gather in the outfield and sing it prior to each game - Lots of people came up and told us how touched they were.
Pretty rare. My own opinion is that it should only be done if you're going to give a talented local kid an opportunity to perform.

I would prefer they refrain simply for the fact that I would rather not start my day resisting the urge to smack the crap out of those that do not respect the moment. But then again I live in a diverse, multicultural community and I am told I should be more tolerant of the idiots that surround me.
