I'm right here.
What's the process for becoming a certified umpire? Is there a class involved? Do you need to take an exam for the different leagues (USSSA ASA Pony Little League)? Who do you contact? Etc.

Thanks off any insight you could provide.

A.S.A requires a class and passing both written and field tests.
Ditto for NFHS
Babe Ruth is just a (very hard) written test.
I went with ASA and HS, then took the Babe Ruth exam.
Not sure about Pony but USSSA is a similar process as with ASA.
Contact ASA for a classes located near you.

This GREATLY varies from location to location.

ASA does publish a rules test annually...is is used nationally? Who knows?

Some areas require both a "passing" grade on the test, what that grade is varies. Some area require field evaluations and clinic attendance. Some associations just require that you pay their dues and buy a shirt.

If you want to know the requirements where you live, ask one of the umpires that work your local games to refer you to their assigners.
