My DD kind of had the same issue. Once she practiced with them, she realized she knew a few from competing against them in other school sports plus she realized that they were just other girls her age that like softball....not necessarily a team full of Crystal Bustos and Jennie Finchs. Once she saw that she was on their level she relaxed a ton.

Definitely will do. I don't have the time or patience for softball drama.

This is what I say every time she walks out to the circle: "Just have fun" or "enjoy it, you earned this"

Then I run and hide somewhere I cannot be seen. Mouth full of seeds.

Time at home is when I coach her. Not before/during games or team practices. Now I do scout the other teams and players and pass her information before games to see if she picks up what I think she should do (like # 6 is a slugger or #12 bites on high ones). And I also share it with her coaches.

There is nothing I can say (coaching wise) before the tournament that will help her at that point.
