    Here is a link to some Stromotion videos from the Olympics, there are also some still shots on the NBC website. It is an interesting look at the trajectories of some of the pitches particularly some of Cat Osterman's. You can see the rise vs the drop.

    Sorry the link is not active, I am not sure why. If you Google stromotion softball it brings up an AOL video site, go there and click on the screen and it should take you to the video.

    I watched the video folks. I only saw Cat throw one pitch that may have been a riseball. Hard to tell with a right side view and a lefty pitcher.

    Watch how her throwing hand jerks up at the last instant. SHE IS THROWING A HIGH DROP, A COMBINATION PEEL/PULL-UP DROP! It is not a rise ball that is breaking down after it was travelling up!
