I bet this was posted at some time BUT I can't find it.

What are the Revs Per Sec of really really good movement pitchers in softball?

RB- good to see your post. I agree with GM on the spin. What I struggle with is how relevant the RevFire really is...??? Meaning, the RevFire 2 has been "coming soon" for years now.. Whatever! Not sure what happened but they obviously are having issues with their product so they lost all credibility to me. Just my humble opinion. Definitely a good post but until they figure it out I could care less.....

Upper 20s-30+ is elite territory

Here's a link to some old NFCA camp data http://www.revfire.com/files/2011_NFCA_Showcase_RevFire_Spin_Performance.pdf

Interesting.

In my earlier years with DD I was always so hyper-focused on speed speed speed. Bought 3 different brands of speed guns (Geesh I look back and what a crazy thrashing experience that was trying to get confidence with any one device).

I think my DD was already signed when the rev-fire thing started to catch on. I always thought well my DD has good spins but her hands are too small to get REALLY good spin on the ball.

DD and I just spoke yesterday and the coaching staff analyzed her RPS = averaged 30. (I assume it was with Rev Fire)

I guess there is hope for the small-handed pitcher! LOL

I remember when I was first got my RevFire and was unpacking it and playing with it. I was doing riseball spins and hitting 16-17 RPS thinking I was doing pretty good. My DD happened to come home from work at the same time and asked what I had. She grabs the ball dead cold, hasn't thrown a pitch in a game in 8 years. She hit 24 with it. I packed it up and slinked away with my pride heavily bruised. :(

30 is really good. 25+ is what I consider as a good goal for those developing their spin. More importantly... spinning a correct axis should really be the number 1 priority. Way too many bullets out there.

Wilkinson was spinning 45 on her riseball... that is the highest I have seen... and... she actually threw backspin.

Riseball - you ever have your DD rev-measured?

She was in low 30s when she left for college. Last season she was high 30's low 40s. Still rehabbing from surgery so not sure where she is now. Her teammate Haley Copeland is consistent 40's. In the interest of full disclosure both have "freakish anatomical attributes" that help them to achieve those spin rates. They can manipulate their joints in ways that seem impossible, and may even make you squeamish. They are both atypical with respect to pitchers or normal humans. :)
