I found some more information that may be helpful for those who are interested. Pretty interesting and feel fairly confident that the NFCA Camps are accurate.

2 comments below and in different colors:

NFCA Pennsbury Recruiting Camp, Yardley, Penn., June 12
NFCA Great Lakes Recruiting Camp, Toledo, Ohio, June 19
NFCA Colorado Sparkler Recruiting Camp, Westminster, Colo., June 30
NFCA Colorado Fireworks Recruiting Camp, Aurora, Colo., July 1
NFCA Elite College Showcase Recruiting Camp, Plano, Texas, July 24

Now I have no way of knowing if any of the pitchers went to more then one but here is how the numbers worked out.

633 different pitchers results were tallied from the 5 camps

Each pitcher had the speed of 2 fastballs recorded.

The data for 1266 recorded fastballs showed an average MPH for all 1266 pitches as 56.5MPH

123 girls had at least one pitch at 60mph or faster

63 girls had both pitches at 60 or faster

Maximum MPH was 66, thrown 3 times by 3 different girls

Not sure what would be the ave age of these 633 girls but the camp was sophomores and up.

follow up comment to the comment above:

I'm a geek and keep some of those results too. If you look at LV, it breaks the pitchers down by grad year. Out of 91 total pitchers (17 and 18 yrs old), only 19 had two pitches that were 60+.

This NFCA data falls in line with the numbers I posted earlier so probably a pretty good gauge.

You bet 2020! I really believe there are the outliers for sure. The amazing kid that is truly a beast and better, faster, stronger than everyone else. We have one in our neck of the woods and she is the #1 softball player for 2018 and committed to OU in 8th grade. I don't even need to mention her name as most know who that is. Point is, she is truly an amazing pitcher and truly dominate. So when I hear girls throwing faster than she does at a much younger age and tons of them I know either they don't know what they are talking about (innocently uneducated on speeds) or they just ate a pot brownie. (apparently those are now more widely available) Again, I will never say speed is everything because it is not, BUT, it is a gauge to know where your daughter stands among others. If a post sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

From my experience. Everyone throws 60. If you don't believe it just ask them!

Seriously, 60 sounds and looks different. When you see it you will know and it likely won't come from the pitcher you were told was throwing 60. The ones that truly are throwing 60+ don't have Dad's who have to tell people.

I have been doing a lot of recruiting work lately and I don't think as many coaches are set on 60 as you may hear/think. Your bigger programs may have the 60 threshold, but most are in the 57/58 range if you are spot on with location and have good movement. Coaches want their pitchers to generate outs.

My DD has never hit 60. She is a sophomore in HS

Last year my daughter had a teammate that is class of 2021(7th grader at the time) with an average build that could legitimately hit 60. She cruised around 56/57 with wicked movement. We played B level ball in the Midwest.
My daughter on the other hand, is also a 2021. She is 5'2" 130 pounds and cruises at 55/56. I have been told that she has hit 58 on occasion. She has good movement and throws the ball to all 4 quadrants.
Of course she is also capable of throwing 50 with terrible control!:p
