Dead stops can be helpful, but right now your daughter needs to work on loosening up the lower arm and letting it whip. The arm blows by the hip pretty straight with almost no lock and minimal IR advantage due to lack of lag/flexion.

Any drills or cues to help her feel that? We've talked about it but she isn't getting it.

I don't really do "drills." I'd take drive and control out of the focus and use lots of easy, underhand catch with an emphasis on feeling the whip (elbow snap.) Make sure you can't see any gap between the hand and thigh at release. Stay tall, stacked and resist muscling with the shoulders. Get the elbow to lock back behind the hip and brush/wrap/roll with the forearm. Go back through the IR drills and find one (or all) that help her find the feel of a loose lower arm--like a ball on a rope, hanging from the elbow. Use feedback at first, then transition into asking her if it was good/not good and why. Get her to understand what she's doing so she can connect the cue with how it feels and verbalize good/not good as soon as possible. Check out the clicker tool that Rick and java use at this point.

It's a cue--think about the lower arm feeling like a ball on a rope that's hanging from the elbow. Loosen up and snap the lower arm/ball.
