I'm sure I can push him for a referral. That's why I made this post just to gauge how bad this is and if anybody else has went through this. So far the consensus seems to be this is bad. I did question the doctor when he said she would be alright in a couple weeks but he insisted she will be fine. As a parent I want to trust what a doctor is telling me and I know their not always right. I'm just confused on what I should do.

I don't know if it is bad. My impression is more that in cases of joint pain in young people, you need to get to the bottom of the problem and not assume that it is OK until an ortho confirms this.

Update. We went to orthopedic today. He said he couldn't see anything on X-ray. He moved her shoulder around and pushed and pulled on it. He said he didn't think it was anything major because she didn't experience any pain when moving it around. Don't need an MRI because even if something major is wrong she's to young for surgery anyway. Referred us to physical therapy. So we will start therapy and see how it goes.

Update. DD is finally starting to pitch again pain free. Lastnight she was able to throw overhand and under hand without pain. We are still not out of the woods yet. She was only throwing about half speed but it was refreshing to be able to throw with her again. We have been in physical therapy for about 4 weeks working on legs and core strength and also strengthening shoulders. She has work hard to get to this point. Hopefully she continues to improve.
